RANGERS EYEING TRANSFER FOR AEK STRIKER

Rangers are reportedly interested in a move for AEK Athens striker Marko Livaja. The 27-year-old Croatian international was strongly linked with a transfer to the Scottish Premiership league leaders before the January transfer window ended earlier this week. Rangers were not able to pull off a deal for the striker before the recent transfer market ended and they might go back for him in the summer. The interest of Rangers in the Croatian striker was revealed by Vital Football.

Rangers were seriously linked with AEK Athens player Marko Livajalast month as potential replacement for the striking duo of Jermaine Defoe and Alfredo Morelos. There were serious doubts over the immediate future of Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos and Jermaine Defoe but the two players eventually stayed at the Scottish Premiership giants beyond the recent January transfer window. Veteran English striker Jermaine Defoe was linked with an exit from the club in search of regular first team football. The ex-Three Lions of England striker has less than six months on his present Rangers contract and will almost certainly leave the club in the summer at the expiration of his contract. For Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos, he has been strongly linked with Premier League clubs. During his time at Rangers, Alfredo Morelos has been involved in a lot of disciplinary problems.

AEK Athens star Marko Livajawill be a free agent this summer and Rangers could make their move for the £4m-rated striker when his AEK Athens contract ends. Marko Livaja has been involved in around half of AEK Athens league games from the start this season and Rangers have been interested in him since 2018 and this summer could be the perfect time for the Scottish giants to snap him up. Marko Livaja has a record of a goal or an assist in every other game for AEK Athens.
