At the moment, AEK Athens is putting together a transfer campaign for the upcoming season to bring in the best players. This is a club that is around for almost 100 years and has always been regarded as one of the most important clubs in Greece. As such, it always had plenty of money to spend on players who can help them win more football games.
It will be interesting to see if any or all of these reports prove true when they are officially announced later this month. After releasing several stars from their squad at the end of last year, AEK Athens is looking to strengthen their squad for the new campaign. Moreover, they finished in 8th place after a disappointing campaign in which they only managed 2 wins out of 18 matches played. Therefore, the Greek side is linked with many players from across Europe following their disappointing campaign in the Greek Super League last season.
The Greek side is also believed to be close to signing French midfielder Pierre-Yves M’bia from Paris Saint-Germain on loan until the end of next season. The player will join up with his former manager Jean Fernandez who spent time working alongside him during his time at AS Saint-Etienne where he helped them win Ligue 1 titles in 2006 and 2007 as well as earn promotion into Ligue 1 himself in 2006.
