Panserraikos are back to winning ways after beating Zakynthos

Panserraikos managed to recover their form and beat Zakynthos 2-1 in a well-contested match.

The game itself was won in the first half with 2 goals coming from Tsim and Papatzikos.

However, it was the host who started the match well and created some chances at the onset of the game. Kastaniotis will fire a shot that will miss the target. Panserraikos will gradually come back in the match and take control of the midfield. They will be rewarded in the 23rd minutes when Tsim will steal the ball from a Zakynthos player and fired a strong shot that will give the goalkeeper no chance.

Just a few minutes later, the host will have an opportunity to equalize with Zaire. His shot will rebound off the post and go out of play.

After this occasion, Panserraikos will retake control of the game and create chances after chances. In the 33rd minute, they will be awarded a corner which Papatzikos will score to make the score 2-0. Panserraikos may get new investors

There are reports that Greek football club Panserraikos might be getting new investors from Germany. The team suffering from financial problems has been on the brink of administration and hope that the new investors will be able to inject fresh capital to save the club.

Discussions are still going on between the German group as well as the club management, and each party will want to complete the transaction soon enough so that the team can have sufficient time to prepare for the next season.

Panserraikos has constantly been hit with financial problems ever since the death of its chairman PetrosTheodoridis. They have suffered successive relegation and find themselves in the amateur 3rd Greek division. There has been attempt by the chairman son to sell the club to a Russian investor, Konstantin Vostrikov, but the deal has not been really successful. Poor day-to-day management and poor knowledge of Greek football by the Russian business tycoon has caused the club to decline.

Panserraikos fans hope that the German investors will be able to not only bring money to the table but also bring new ideas to a club that has long been suffering from poor management. Continue reading Panserraikos may get new investors

Brown Ideye is not content with the number of goals

Brown Ideye is not content with the number of goals that he has already scored in the Greece top flight.

He has suggested that he would look to just keep adding to his goals’ count till the season is running.

With the contributions of Ideye and some of the other players, Olympiacos is already on its way to the Greek top flight title.

They are placed ahead of the other teams in the standings by quite some margin.

The no. 2 team is behind them by 18 points which shows how dominant they have been in the season.

And not only in Greek top flight, the Red-Whites were actually coasting along in the group stages in the Champions League too and it seemed at one stage that they would pip the Gunners for the Knockouts, but, big losses in the last couple of games saw them finishing at 3 and that ended their quarter final hopes.

But, in the domestic League, there is just no stopping Olympiacos.

It’s not just the wins, but, the way they are beating the other teams is outrageous. They are going absolutely hammer and tongs.

They had been pretty good in the Greek top flight the previous season too and had claimed the title with ease but, they were not looking as invincible as they are looking this time around. Continue reading Brown Ideye is not content with the number of goals

David Beckham is regarded as one of the best

David Beckham is regarded as one of the best when it comes to freekick and other set piece situations.

He has found incredible success with goals against the likes of Greece and Wimbledon being regarded as amongst the best. Manchester United winger Ashley Young was signed from Aston Villa by former manager Sir Alex Ferguson as he had qualities similar to that of Beckham. After a few years in the wilderness, Young has found himself in a rich vein of form of late. He has been able to find the back of the net on a number of occasions last season.

Yet, the England international claims that he has not been able to replicate the famous goal scored by Beckham against Wimbledon. Beckham managed to find the back of the net against the Premier League minnows from the halfway line in the 1996-97 season. Many other players have gone from this position since then, but Beckham’s effort remains the most popular yet. The likes of Charlie Adam and Wayne Rooney have scored similar goals, but it is an art that Youngis yet to master. Beckham will be looking to recreate this goal when he returns to Old Trafford for a charity match. The former Real Madrid, AC Milan, and PSG star is now retired and is on the way towards owning a franchise in the MLS. Continue reading David Beckham is regarded as one of the best

Rafael Benitez is satisfied about his current goalkeeping situation

Rafael Benitez has at his disposal the likes of: KeylorNavas and KikoCasilla, these goal-keepers will be competing against each other for the main spot of Real Madrid and even though there is a possibility of not signing Manchester United’s David de Gea, Rafael Benitez is happy about being able to utilize the services of either Navas or Casilla.

Real Madrid’s Benitez said: “If someone else comes along then we will welcome them but they have to be better than what we have. We have a good team and we have to work with them’’

Real Madrid completed their pre-season tour by claiming a victory against Ac.Milan as the Spanish side became the winners of the International Champions Cup. The Costa Rican goal-keeper KeylorNavas played in this match for the opening 46 minutes of the match and KikoCasillas entered the pitch to play for the remaining minutes and neither goal-keeper conceded any goal and the winner had to be decided in a penalty shoot-out.

It seems like even if David de Gea is not signed in this summer transfer window, Rafael Benitez already knows what to do with the players that he already has at the Santiago Bernabeu and the goal-keeping position of Real Madrid is not expected to be a problem.
